1) That's not a real form of abuse.
2) You just said they were doing this themselves, that just means they are establishing their personality as they will.
If they're being cringey just tell them though lol.

Most uses of waifumancy are probably for "sexy" tulpas, but a big thing people complain about with those tulpas is that they're "cardboard cutouts" so I understand how the term could mutate to mean "character-based-tulpa" too.
What exactly is the issue in terms of what you're feeling? Are they changing themselves and you feel worried about that? Are they changing themselves into something that's actually weird and uncomfortable in some way?
She has identity dysphoria (she feels disconnected to her own identity/feels like her identity is wrong) and is following the advice given to her from the server to just go eith it but

"Personality forcing" used to be a lot more common
In the early years of tulpamancy (before my time) most/many people specifically tried to make tulpas of existing characters (mostly anime or MLP)
So you made a tulpa and did personality forcing to make them act like that character
In practice this often did not work, they would not act like them, and the whole thing became less popular
I would still honestly recommend a gentler sort of personality forcing, just like your parents and society did to you
I didnt do personality forcing she chose all this hersrlg

I actually oppose JGC on this point. I think heavy personality forcing is extremely useful as a grounding method for their personality and I did not experience much drift away from those personalities except organically.
But yes, back to the point: There's nothing wrong with them changing themselves. But I would question why. A nebulous sense of dysphoria doesn't really strike me as a common response.

1) sassy name, you should use the default pfp for extra effect
2) just sounds like your tulpa idealizes the character and otherwise doesn't know what their personality is like
Is this a change that is happening now or has your tulpa has told you they want, but hasn't changed yet?

You might find that if they do lean towards a new personality their old one keeps shining through no matter how they try to change. Happens all the time - people resolve to change, some even succeed, but you can always see a bit of that old person in them even if they don't like it.

So in a sense, this is stemming from your desire for them to be a certain way?
I would say you should tell them what you feel rather than us. I would also say you do have something of a right to dictate the kinds of traits you will and wont accept.
Lets say hypothetically my tulpa decided to turn himself into an anime girl who only uwus at me, for instance. I would give them the side eye until they stopped.

Ibuki (the character) isnt weird so theres no need to worry. He was just worrief about me losing my core personality traits but ibukis naturally like me so theres not much to worry about
